PETALING JAYA: A housewife’s urge to bet on a set of numbers from a stack of old 4D tickets she unearthed while spring-cleaning a bedroom cupboard has made her RM7.9mil richer.
The woman from Penang, in her 40s, had placed a Toto 4D Jackpot bet on 12 sets of 4D numbers using System Play 12, which created 66 pairs of 4D numbers.
One of the pairs, “2120 and 6291”, hit the first prize of the Toto 4D Jackpot last Saturday, totalling RM7.9mil.
According to a press release by Sports Toto Malaysia yesterday, the woman has no plans for her newfound fortune, saying she “still can’t think clearly at the moment”.
As a result of using System Play 12, the woman also won an additional prize money totalling RM3,360 for winning 20 sets of the third prize.
Meanwhile, a businessman struck gold for the second time in the last few years when he won the Power Toto 6/55 jackpot of RM4.7mil on Aug 10.
A loyal Toto player of 20 years, the Johorean won a million ringgit prize from Sports Toto a few years ago.
The avid punter, who is used to betting substantially on Toto games, said he was “not very stunned” over the win due to his previous experience.
This time around, he used System Play 8 to bet on a “feel-good” combination of 4, 10, 14,15, 22 and 23.
He also got an extra RM40,200 for winning 12 sets of the second prize and 15 sets of the third prize.
